Genuine Ford Badges - Painted Finishes

The extra special level of detail...

Our painted Genuine Ford badge(s) are now available for the front and tailgate for selected vehicles.  If your vehicle is not available on the product listing, please contact us as we may be able to supply parts for your vehicle as a custom order.

Why not just buy a gel overlay?

Gel badges are cheaper alternatives to a painted badge of course, but they do have their disadvantages:

  • Aesthetically Inferior
  • Incorrect Colour Match To Vehicle
  • Not UV Stable - Fading Over Time
  • Can Leave A 'Lip' Around The Edge That Lifts (Particularly Through Jet Washing)
  • No Longer Readily Available Following Ford Taking Legal Action Against Unlicenced Use Of Their Registered Trademark

How much?!

Following the launch of these products on social media we have received a lot of feedback regarding the price of the parts.  Whilst we are aware the painted Genuine Ford badges are quite a bit more expensive than a gel badge, we believe the parts provide value for money when you consider the significant labour that is involved in producing each badge, plus the spiralling cost of materials, postage and packing and our old friend VAT!  Not to mention the stunning quality of the finished product of course.  Please read on to find out more...

The process...

When a badge sells we place an order with our local Ford parts supplier.  As soon as it arrives our skilled workshop team firstly get to work in removing the factory fitted adhesive backing which is often reluctant to come off in one piece (to say the least!).  This has to be removed to allow access to the fixings on the rear of the badge.  Once all the tiny pieces of adhesive have been removed, the team continue with the initial prep work...

In the majority of cases, the badges have to be meticulously stripped down into four main pieces...

The final preparation can then take place which, depending on the badge is either done by hand or in some cases in our vapour blaster...

Once the parts are fully prepared they are mounted ready to be primed...

After all the parts have been primed, the main badge pieces and the 'oval' are painted in the desired colour for the lettering...

Once dry, the lettering is carefully masked and the main badges are painted again in the secondary colour along with the lettering surround pieces...

The badges are then carefully re-assembled and bonded back together before going back into the paint booth to be lacquered.  This helps seal the parts whilst providing a durable finish with a glossy shine!

The parts are then left to cure before having a brand new laser cut adhesive backing applied to the back of the part.  They are then safely packaged up and sent to the customer, ready to be installed on the car...
